BASO (Broadening Access to STEM Opportunities)
Dewey University has been addressing the needs and challenges of our urban service area through strong programming that includes STEM fields. At the same time, we seek to continue expanding access to new areas with strong potential for growth (e.g., technology fields) to broaden and maximize opportunities for our students.
Our institution will be strategically addressed through this Title V project, which proposes to develop:
- A new Bachelor of Science degree program (Information Technology);
- Appropriately equipped instructional facilities (laboratories to support proposed information technology program, as well as science and mathematics laboratories); and
- An academic support system (with face-to-face and online components) to adequately support students at risk of failure, particularly in challenging STEM courses.
